8 LIMBS OF YOGA (ASHTANGA)

Pantanjali is the creator of Patanjali yoga sutra by classifying yoga into 8 limbs which in Sanskrit called ASHTANGA.







NOW WE WILL TALK ABOUT THE " 8 LIMBS OF YOGA" 

1. YAMA (ABSTINENCES)

   INCLUDES 5 THINGS:

AHIMSA- KINDNESS, NON-VIOLENCE.SATYA- TRUTHFULNESS.ASTEYA- NON STEALING.BRAHMACHARYA- MODERATION OR NOFAP.APARIGRAHA- GENEROSITY.  

2. NIYAMA (OBSERVANCES)

  INCLUDES 5 THINGS:


SAUCHA-  PURITY OR CLEANLINESS.SANTOSHA- CONTENTMENT.TAPAS- AUSTERITY.SWADYAYA- SELF STUDY.ISWARA PRANIDHANA- SURRENDER TO ALMIGHTY.      

3. ASANA (YOGA POSTURES)






4. PRANAYAMA (BREATH CONTROL)




 Pranayama has many types but the   most favorite and a common one is ANULOM   VIL0M PRANAYAMA.



5. PRATYAHARA (WITHDRAWAL OF THE SENSES)

  Controlling all the 10 senses and focusing inwards.


6. DHARANA (CONCENTRATION)
